I’m working in the corner of the kitchen tonight as Danielle finishes the master for the first single from “Simultaneously Alive”. We’ve done a lot of work to ensure that certain corners of the house are no longer recognizable as what they were when I was growing up here. This is one of those corners. Once clad in country-blue checkered wallpaper and shelves of old cracker boxes, now the speakers replace the haunted mirror that used to hang here, reflecting only the good vibes coming from the parlor music. The house is becoming more and more filled with new corners like this.

Reclaiming space so that we can live more in the present — to grow from the transformation of space — has been part of the process of reclaiming our souls and finding our way back towards creating music. This album wouldn’t be possible without the effort we’ve put into the healing journey for our spaces as well as ourselves.
