Flow State Series [Live]

Published on December 23, 2025 By Sabin

I’ve recently started recording electronic music experiments and here is my first collection. I created these using Logic Pro and an Arturia MIDI controller. Everything is created live and then mixed for listenability.

These eight tracks came together over four days during winter solstice 2025, after nearly a year of creative silence. Each one explores a different mood, a different tempo, a different way of being present with sound.

Em_01 starts minimal and hypnotic—just drums, bass, and patient filter work. It’s about disappearing into the groove rather than thinking your way through it.

Dm_02 gets more layered and psychedelic, blending a sampled Cuban upright bass with synthetic textures. This one’s about the conversation between organic and electronic.

C_03 picks up the pace, moving into more cerebral territory. It holds space for thought while staying in motion.

Dm_04 goes dark and cathartic—eight minutes of relentless energy. This is the one for moving heavy things through the body.

Pear Gummies showed up as a surprise—playful and bouncy, named by my partner while we were eating candy. Not everything has to be serious.

Em_05 brings it back down with nearly eleven minutes of ambient downtempo. Space to breathe after intensity.

C_06 was made Christmas morning, thinking about comfort and care. Gentle atmospheres for when you need lifting but can’t climb on your own.

Gm_07 closes with driving energy and layered arpeggiation. After the journey through all these different spaces, this one says you can still move, still groove, still dance.

Gear & Sounds

All tracks created in Logic Pro using:

  • ES2 (analog synthesis, acid bass lines)
  • Alchemy (layered pads, arpeggiation, atmospheric textures)
  • RetroSynth (additional synthesis)
  • Drum Machine Designer (Roland TR-909 sounds)
  • Apple Loops (organic samples, supplemental textures)
  • Live Loops (performance and arrangement on select tracks)
  • Arturia MiniLab mkII (MIDI controller for real-time filter manipulation)

Performance recorded live, then mixed for balance and clarity. No edits to the performance itself—what you hear is what happened, glitches, mistakes, and all.
