Convalescence

I recorded this at the kitchen table on a bright, clear day looking out the sliding glass door. You can see my set up in the picture, though a month or so later.
The track is a meditation on becoming well — Not being well, or being ill, but becoming into a state of understanding and reconciliation. As though on the banks of a river in the sun, recovering. From everything.
A friend of mine said this about it after hearing it:
“Wow what a beautiful arrangement. So pretty, soothing, delicate. I love this. This actually reminds me somewhat of something Roxy Music (Avalon album) or Chris Rea (On The Beach) might have done, even some parts of Mark Knopfler’s more peaceful tracks, ‘Wild Theme’ for one, but with a more modern feel”
I listened to a lot of “Hearts of Space” growing up, and the pads are inspired by some of my favorite New Age sounds.
