Flow State [LIVE] – New Electronic Music Series

Published on December 26, 2025 By Sabin

After a year of creative silence following the release of “Where’ve You Been?”, something shifted during winter solstice 2025 and the gates opened up. Over four days this past week, eight tracks emerged—minimal techno, ambient downtempo, driving arpeggiated grooves. All created and performed live in Logic Pro, no edits after performance, just flow state and filter work and a simple final mix for listenability.

This is different from “Where’ve You Been?” That was documentation of healing, retrospective, and closing a chapter. This is what comes after—making music from presence instead of processing, riding grooves instead of wrestling with ghosts, exploring sound for the joy of it.

THE TRACKS

The first eight tracks came together over four days during winter solstice 2025, after nearly a year of creative silence. Each one explores a different mood, a different tempo, a different way of being present with sound, but follows the same formula: sound sculpting then performance.

Em_01 starts minimal and hypnotic—just drums, bass, and patient filter work. It’s about disappearing into the groove rather than thinking your way through it.

Dm_02 gets more layered and psychedelic, blending a sampled Cuban upright bass with synthetic textures. This one’s about the conversation between organic and electronic.

C_03 picks up the pace, moving into more cerebral territory. It holds space for thought while staying in motion.

Dm_04 goes dark and cathartic—eight minutes of relentless energy. This is the one for moving heavy things through the body.

Pear Gummies showed up as a surprise—playful and bouncy, named by my partner while we were eating candy. Not everything has to be serious.

Em_05 brings it back down with nearly eleven minutes of ambient downtempo. Space to breathe after intensity.

C_06 was made Christmas morning, thinking about comfort and care. Gentle atmospheres for when you need lifting but can’t climb on your own.

Gm_07 closes with driving energy and layered arpeggiation. After the journey through all these different spaces, this one says you can still move, still groove, still dance.

Am_08 was performed after the initial EP was put together, but belonged with its kin, so I dropped it in after the fact. A more worldly feel than minimalist, it dives closer to House, but was still created using the same process.

WHAT’S NEXT

I’m hoping to add hardware in January, just starting really simple with a Behringer RD-9 (Roland TR-909 clone) and TD-3 (TB-303 clone). I’m looking forward to the real knobs, real buttons, and parallel tactile creativity instead of mouse-clicking. Whatever comes next, these eight tracks are the foundation, proof to me that the creative channel is open again.

More tracks coming. Live performance on the horizon.
